When in Doubt…
Tell the Truth – Mark Twain
September 11, 2006
Another do-nothing day on the Pearl River. It began with baths and breakfast, and a small shopping excursion with a stop at a local playground. There are so many bronze sculptures all around the city. On just the few streets we have walked, I would venture to guess that we have seen at least 40 or 50. Most are humorous in nature, showing day-to-day life scenes, mostly with children featured.
Sheila and Jada and Ruby got plenty of looks from passers-by today by wearing their matching skirts. Several people commented on them. I was even asked where mine was, and I reported that I had stained it and it was back in the room ready for laundering.
Today was our “Red Couch” picture session, followed by the informal travel group picture session. I have included both here for you to see.
After the late afternoon picture taking, we all met in the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant for dinner. In addition to Thai food, you can add Cantonese to the list of restaurant types that I will be sure NOT to frequent in the near future. Lord, please let me live until I can eat at La Carreta and Cheddar’s at least one more time!
And no, the duck was not ordered by anyone with the last name of Lane. And that’s the truth!
I’m tired and I’m going to follow the girls on to bed. Talk to you again, real soon!
